At 122 pages for a four "book" compilation, or less than 30 pages per book when you subtract title pages and such, I wouldn't recommend anyone paying a price equivalent to a 400 page novel. But as you can read it free on kindle unlimited, it is worth checking out if you have that service.It is a fun and interesting world the author has created so far. The main character is more relatable than standard anti-hero alpha male protagonist as written by angry teen virgin that predominates most litrpg harem fiction. His in game romance with his NPC companion is compelling enough that I was irritated whenever the action moved into the real world to incorporate a romance out of the game that seemed more farfetched within the internal logic of the story. I am looking forward to see where the story goes, but so far he has only just introduced the characters and revealed the central conflict.... so that is just act one territory.

This is the first four books of Calico Jack’s series a new author for me so looked forward to reading the collection. It starts off with a bang for Deetz who is having fun in a VR world. Seductive Seas is a game for adults yet there is a bit more. The story is set in both reality and the game you will follow the adventures of Deetz in these four books and believe me there will be a bit of discomfort when you read about the good doctor. These are not bad books a bit out my comfort zone, but I can see the appeal to these stories. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Well all I want to know is where do I get one of these VR games LOL ...THis was an interesting and different book by the cover I thought it was a pirate book and in ways it is but a lot more . I suggest reading it and finding out yourself. It concludes with a consideration of the fall of the Ming in light of contemporary conflicts and regime changes around the globe, drawing attention to climatological factors and developments outside state control. Kenneth M. Swope is Professor of History and Fellow of The Center for the Study of War and Society at the University of Southern Mississippi, USA. He specializes in the military, political, and social history of Ming China, and he also conducts research in comparative early modern military history, and in East Asian international relations. His books include Warfare in China Since 1600 (2005); and A Dragon’s Head and a Serpent’s Tail: Ming China and the First Great East Asian War, 1592-1600 (2009).
